I have just watched a documentary on the anniversary of the '60's' 'revolutions'. Lead by immense passion and bravery, the establishment then was truly treatened. The belief, the trust, in the ideology, reinforced the spirit and articulated the possibility of a just future. The leaders, their language, their propaganda and their apparent integrity, suggested the way to go. But they gave it all up. They sold out the followers and immersed themselves in post-modern justifications and apologia. Many were left stranded. The 'revolutionaries' have left the stage, but, "la luta continua', hopefully, somewhere. |
